Birth and Postpartum Doula
MY SERVICES
FREE CONSULATION
I provide an initial in-person consultation with you and whomever you choose to determine if I am the right doula for you. This consultation is entirely free and there is no obligation. During this consultation, we will discuss what you are looking for in a doula and I will answer any questions you may have.
UNLIMITED SUPPORT
Throughout your pregnancy and continuing into postpartum, I provide unlimited phone and email support. This is to ensure all of your questions are answered and concerns are resolved at any point. This support is included in all of the packages I offer.
PRENATAL VISITS
Depending on your wants and needs, I will provide 2-4 in-person, prenatal visits after the initial consultation and contracts are complete. During these visits, we will discuss your birth plan, your desires for your labor and postpartum. Also, these initial visits are important in building a trusting relationship on which you can depend.
BIRTH SUPPORT
During labor, I am present both physically and mentally for the duration. I will provide emotional and physical support to you and whomever you choose to be present during this time. I am engaged in the labor process when requested and work to ensure that the environment is supportive and designed for you to birth your child. I will be present during your baby's first feeding after labor and will be able to provide support if needed.
POSTPARTUM SUPPORT
In addition to prenatal, I also provide postpartum visits to follow-up after the birth. During these visits, I am present to provide any support that may be needed for mom, partner, and new baby. I will provide support for breastfeeding as well as processing the birthing experience. These visits may be used for childcare, assistance with running errands, housekeeping, and other tasks. I also will provide a homecooked meal for each scheduled visit.
PROFESSIONAL REFERRALS AND INFORMATION
I can provide referrals for additional support services when needed, including lactation consultants, support groups for new mothers, and any other necessary supports you or your family need during this time. I hope to provide your family with the necessary information and resources to ensure this time is supportive for everyone.
As your doula, I will not:
- replace the role of your midwife, nurse, doctor, or OB/GYN
- perform any medical or clinical procedures such as vaginal exams or fetal heart monitoringÂ
- make any decisions for you or speak to others on your behalfÂ
- attempt to influence your decisions based on my own beliefs
